Rodney Paul Nordbrock, 72, of Waterloo, died Monday, September 8, 2025. He was born December 16, 1952, in Waterloo, to Otto and Esther (Braun) Nordbrock. He graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1971 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1974 where he served as an expert marksman and electronics mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1978. After his service Rodney attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology and earned a degree in computer communications.
Rodney married Mary Newton in May of 1985 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He was a motorcycle riding enthusiast, and a past member of the Gold Wing Club. He was also a photographer and enjoyed hockey.
He is survived by his wife Mary Nordbrock of Waterloo, his daughters Kimberly Nordbrock and Amy (Brandon) Taylor both of Waterloo, sons Danny Lancaster of Waterloo, and David (Stacey) Lancaster of Centerville, brother, Earl (Irene) Nordbrock of Utah, and grandchildren Jacob, Isabelle, Devin, Abraham, Connor, Brooklyn, Hudson and Ella.
He was preceded by his parents and brothers Allen and Frederick Nordbrock.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, with visitation from 9:30 – 11:30. Burial will take place in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, with military honors by the US Marine Corps, Waterloo VFW Post 1623 and American Legion Post 138. Memorials may be directed to the family.
