Robert G. Engelmann, 71, of Waterloo, died on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his home.

Bob was born on January 2, 1953, in Storm Lake, the son of George and Violet (Mauser) Engelmann. He graduated from Albert City-Truesdale High School in 1971 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Northen Iowa. Bob married Kristen "Kris" Tibbetts-Mondt in September 1987 on the Dubuque Mississippi River Queen. He worked as postal carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Bob was a member Evansdale Sons of the AMVETS and of Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo where he sang in the choir. Bob was an avid sports fan, he was an accomplished horseshoe pitcher and team captain, fishing, the San Fransico Giants, but on Sundays you could find Bob checking in on his fantasy football leagues and rooting for the Green Bay Packers.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bob is survived by wife, Kris of Waterloo; sister, Bonnie (John) Anderson of Maple Plain' MN; brother, Bruce (Jill) Engelmann of Storm Lake; stepson, Ahren Mondt of Cedar Falls; stepdaughter, Audrie Mondt of Hastings' MN; granddaughter, Jasper Downs of Raymond; grandson, Korwyn Marsden of Hastings' MN; and four nephews and one niece.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church-Waterloo. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery-Waterloo.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church Choir.
