Robert Allen Sr.

Robert “Bobby” L. Allen, Sr., 65, of Waterloo, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at home.

Bobby was born November 13, 1952, in Ottumwa, the son of James A. and Velma (Holcom) Allen. Bobby was married to Michelle Payton for 21 years, until later divorcing.

Bobby served in the U.S. Marine Corps until his honorably discharged with a rank as Sergeant. He later worked for Florilli Transportation in West Liberty.

Survived by his longtime companion: Robin Brunson. three sons: Robert “Bobby” L. (Kizzy) Allen, Jr., of Eureka, KS, Eric Allen, of Cedar Rapids, and Joseph Brunson, of Waterloo; six granddaughters: Shayla, Isabelle, Esther, Jade, Marissa, and Erica; one grandson: Ezra; two brothers: Donnie Schuler, of Waterloo, and Jim Larson, of New York; one sister: Tammy Mettlin, of Waterloo; and his mother: Velma Clark.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father: James M. Allen.
