Ralph E. Creedon, 91, of Waterloo died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital from cardiac arrest.
Ralph Edward Creedon was born July 3, 1920 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Albert Edward and Hazel Kirke Huntley Creedon.
Ralph graduated from high school in Omaha, Arkansas. He married Virginia Logan on January 6, 1946 in Harrison, Arkansas. He served in the Sea Bees for 3 years in the South Pacific and Guam during WW II.
Ralph worked as a truck driver for Warren Transportation then Wood Products. He was a member of Hammond Avenue Brethren Church and American Legion Post 138. Ralph received the Governor’s Citation for his work with Virginia delivering Meals on Wheels for 30 years.
Ralph was a wonderful man who had a great sense of humor. He loved to spend time in his yard mowing. He loved trucks and driving all over the country. Ralph had the ability to fix anything mechanical. During his retirement he and Virginia enjoyed traveling and camping.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of Waterloo; two daughters: Betty Steege and her husband Ron of Harpers Ferry and Roberta Meyers and her husband Jack of LaPorte City; and son Joe Creedon of St. Paul, Minnesota. Ralph is also survived by six grandchildren: Mindy (Pat) Giesler, Andrew (Amanda) Steege, Kerrie (Stephen) Michael, Roy (Marisa) Meyers, Joanna (Jacob) Grote and William Creedon, and eleven great-grandchildren.
