Phyllis Mae Kirschman

Phyllis Mae (Jung) Kirschman, 97, of Waterloo, died on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Phyllis was born on July 10, 1926, daughter of Ernest Claude and Zazel Annetta (Moss) Jung in Greene, IA. She graduated from Waterloo West High in 1944.

Phyllis married Dale Kirschman on December 12, 1947, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. Dale and Phyllis owned and operated Kirschman's DX for many years, retiring in 1974. She was a charter member of both Bethel Presbyterian Church and Unity Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfathers, Nels Miller and Jakob Huisman; brother, Dale (Donna) Jung; and sister, Harriet (Robert) Fisk.

Phyllis is survived by her son, David (Rachelle) Kirschman of Waterloo; granddaughter, Jennifer (Michael) Wohlgemuth of Omaha, NE; grandson, Jakob Kirschman of Evansdale; great-grandchildren, Alyvia Kirschman, Gavin Foster, Haley, Kayla, and Austin Wohlgemuth.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th St., Waterloo. Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1149 Hammond Ave., Waterloo. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery-Waterloo.
