Nancy Jane Phams

Nancy's wishes were to be cremated with no services.

Nancy J. Phams, 73, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 12, 2023 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

She was born December 17, 1949, in Waterloo, the daughter of Harry and Darlene Jensen Lafrenz.

She was a 1968 graduate of Hudson High School and Methodist College of Nursing in Omaha in 1989, with an AA degree.

Nancy worked as an enrollment counselor at UNMC in Omaha and worked at Schoitz and Covenant Medical Center in patient admissions, retiring in 2012.

Left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Chaundra (Ken) Johnson of Lakepoint; three grandchildren, Whitney Wyatt and Noah and Alyssa Carroccio; and her friend and neighbor, Dede Graybek of Waterloo.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janet Lafrenz.
