Michael O. Harvey, 72, of La Porte City, formerly of Evansdale, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at La Porte City Specialty Care in La Porte City.

He was born on October 2, 195, in Waterloo, son of Edmund and Donna Lowder Harvey. Michael graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1970.

Michael worked on La Porte City farms for 20 years. After retiring in 1983 due to medical reasons, he was an independent contractor for Waterloo Cedar Fall Courier. Michael attended Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He enjoyed spending time with his cat, Buddy, traveling with his mother, cross-stitching, and going fishing.

Michael is survived by his half-sister, Cathy Harkness of La Porte City, and half-brother, Tim Parker of Waterloo; step-sister, Debra Maxwell, Stoneboro, PA, and step-brother, Bruce Parker of La Porte City. He is preceded in death by his parents; and aunt, Sharon.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, March 2, 2024, in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society. Locke at Tower Park, 319-233-3146, is assisting the family.
