Michael ‘Mike’ Joseph Zubrod

Mike "Zubie" Zubrod, 64 of Waterloo, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at Unity Point Hospice. He was born January 11, 1959, in Waterloo, son of Clifford and Clara (Zecoff) Zubrod. He attended Plainfield High School. Mike worked in Waterloo at John Deere, Mike's Home Improvement, Omega Cabinet, Ferguson and Kay Industries over the years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, watching Blue Bloods, NCIS, playing cards, Nascar, his Buffalo Bills and his Cubbies.

He is survived by his special friend, Mary Ohrt of Waterloo. His brother, Larry (Denise) Zubrod of LaVernia, Texas; his sister, Deb (Bob Peterson) Picknell of Barron, WI. nephew: Dustin Zubrod and great nephew, Cooper Zubrod; Nieces, Brittany Zubrod and Jaime Kershner, all of Brunswick, ME.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Zubrod and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 4:00- 7:00pm Monday June 19, 2023 at the American Legion Waterloo Becker-Chapman Post #138 (728 Commercial St. Waterloo).

In honor of Mike, memorials maybe directed to the family.
