Marlyn “Marla” M. Boleyn, 88, of Washburn, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, under St. Croix Hospice.
Marla was born on September 2, 1937, on a farm in rural Nashua, to Richard and Myrtle (Goodwin) Floden. She attended grade school in Oran, IA, and went on to graduate from Independence High School in 1956. Marla married Ralph Boleyn on June 10, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in Independence; he preceded her in death on July 17, 2023.
Marla’s occupation was more than just a homemaker. She dedicated her life to raising her family and taking care of the home, a role she embraced with love and warmth. Marla had a deep passion for gardening, often finding joy in nurturing her plants. She loved losing herself in books, immersing herself in different worlds through reading. Dancing was another cherished activity for her, with the Waltz holding a special place in her heart. Most importantly, she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, creating beautiful memories together.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John (Irma), Louis (Juanita), Glen (Virginia), Floden; sister, Bertha (Robert) Kolarich; and son, Randy Boleyn.
Marla is survived by her son, Craig (Teresa) Boleyn of Washburn; daughter, Monica (Michael) Ambrose of Waterloo; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey (Chris) Klein, Mitchell (Julie) Ambrose, Randi (Chris) Wilson, and April Boleyn; 6 great-grandchildren, Haley, Kayden, Mollie, Tanner, Harper, and Bowen.
A private graveside service was held at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Salvation Army.
