Marilyn Patricia Tibbetts, of Waterloo, passed away September 28, 2024. She was born January 18, 1932, in Independence, to Clarence and Margaret Snow.

She married Melvin Franklin Tibbetts May 2nd, 1953. They had three daughters Kristen, Karen and Linda. The family took annual vacations each summer often to Minnesota or out west to see parts of Colorado, the Grand Canyon or to California. Marilyn and Melvin later divorced in 1977.

She worked for many years at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Company retiring after notably becoming one of the first women ever to be a foreman and supervisor over a shop floor.

It was at Deere that Marilyn met her second husband Raymond Hoeg. They were married in 1993. She loved spending time with Ray at their trailer on the Mississippi in Prairie du Chien.

Marilyn enjoyed playing Contract Bridge and had attained Life Master status at the game. She loved to travel, going to Bulgaria and China, as well as Canada, Mexico, and Hawaii on shorter trips.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Kristen (Bob) Engelmann of Waterloo, and Karen (Wayne) Eckhoff of Waterloo, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond Hoeg, a sister Jean Miller of Cedar Falls, a sister Lois Kerr of Lake Jacksonville TX, a sister Arva Clark of Waterloo, and a daughter Linda Frisbey of Waterloo.

According to Marilyn's wishes, there will be no services at this time.
