Mariam Evelyn Einfelt

Mariam Evelyn Einfelt

July 6, 1926 April 27, 2021

Mariam Evelyn (Burk) Einfelt was called home, to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Waterloo, Iowa to George & Thresa (Geier) Burk. She graduated from Waterloo East High School. Mariam was united in marriage with Kenneth Einfelt on June 29, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She worked at the Waterloo Laundry and Chamberlin’s Manufacturing before becoming a full-time mother. Mariam and Kenneth were blessed with three children, Kenneth Jr., Kevin, and Karen.

Mariam was the youngest of twelve children. Family was very important to her. There were many reunions and gatherings over the years, all with great story telling and reminiscing.

She liked to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes men and women’s basketball as well as football games, and was an avid Cubs fan.

Mariam was the rock of her family. She drew her strength from the Lord, who she knew as her savior. She was a long-time member of Linden United Methodist Church in Waterloo, where she was a very devoted servant to the Lord.

Mariam was a very loving, generous, caring person. She was always there for you. She was a go-getter and had a great sense of humor and wit. She loved her family unconditionally and will be greatly missed!

Mariam is survived by her son Kevin, daughter Karen (Brian) Petersen and daughter-in-law Barb Einfelt; sisters: Dorothy Bloom and Fonda Mae Stitt; grandchildren Kassandra (Jason Peterson) Einfelt, Korey (Kim) Einfelt, Joshua Petersen, Shane Petersen, & Brad Petersen. Great grandchildren: Charles Medina, Kenneth Einfelt IV, Lily Einfelt, Korinn Einfelt, Kendyll Einfelt, and Patrick Einfelt and two great-great grandchildren.
