Karla Kay Loonan

Karla Kay Loonan, 56, of Waterloo, died at her home Tuesday, February 9, 2016 of natural causes.

She was born December 6, 1959 in Waterloo, daughter of John and Janette McConnell Provin.

She married Martin D. “Marty” Loonan on January 2, 2003 in Waterloo. Karla was a 1978 graduate of Waterloo West High School; went to Hawkeye Community College from 1992-1993 and received her AAS in Civil and Construction Technology.

Karla was an engineering technician for the Bremer County Engineer office, retiring in May 2006. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Evansdale and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and oil painting.

Survivors include her husband, Marty of Waterloo; half-brother, BJ Provin of Mason City; and her aunt, Della Phelps of Denver, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wes Provin; and an infant brother.
