Julie was born on March 27, 1945, in Waterloo, to Arthur and Myrtle (Albertson) Farmer. She graduated from West High School in 1963 and went on to earn her associate’s degree in accounting. Julie married Earnest R. Bean, Sr on June 27, 1964, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death on March 28, 2022.

She worked as an accountant for Tuve Investments and owned her own tax business. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Julie was an Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packers fan.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, daughter Becky (Jonathan) Hoffman, sisters, LaVonne Farmer, Jeannine Rose, and Marilyn Mangin, and grandson, Jonathan Bean.

Julie is survived by her son, Earnest “Bucky” (Carisa) Bean Jr. of Marshalltown; granddaughter, Kimberly Bean of Waterloo; grandsons, Michael Bean, and Isaac Bean both of Marshalltown; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
