Judy Kay Buchan

Judy Kay Buchan, 77, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital at Waterloo. Judy was born on March 31, 1947 in Waterloo, the daughter of Dean and Ferne Klink Wiarda. Judy graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1965.

Judy married Larry Buchan on July 7, 1972 in Grundy Center. He preceded her in death. She was a childcare provider for Cadillac Lanes Bowling Center for 30 years, retiring in 2015.

Judy enjoyed shopping, puzzle books, jewelry, playing cards, and watching bowling with her son on TV.

Judy is survived by: her son, Shannon Buchan of Waterloo; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Judy) Buchan and Ron (Karen) Buchan, of Waterloo; and Many Cousins.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; sister, Sandi Hill; brother, Dennis Wiarda; and niece, Morgan Hill.

Services: 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Locke at Tower Park

Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 2024 Locke at Tower Park

Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
