John Carl Hoskins

John C. Hoskins, 62, of Waterloo, IA, died on Friday, September 12, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics at Iowa City, IA.

He was born on July 8, 1963, in Waterloo, IA, to Lael and Patricia Schiel Hoskins. John graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1981; he also received an associate’s degree in agricultural mechanics from Hawkeye Institute of Technology. John worked as an Ag mechanic.

John was a member of South Waterloo Church of Brethren, he enjoyed bowling, line dancing and working with his hands.

He is survived by three sisters: Janann (Rick) Bauler, Hudson, IA; Donna (Chris) Mayer, Melbourne, IA; Jaclyn Lampson, Waverly, IA, numerous nieces, nephews and two great nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Hoskins; grandparents, and two uncles.

Services: 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.

Visitation: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.

Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery, 3669 Logan Ave, Waterloo.
