Jerimiah William Butler, 16, passed away on March 22, 2026. His life, though short, left a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him.
Jerimiah was a student at Expo High School, where he was known for his presence, his energy, and the way he could light up a room with his smile. He had a spirit that was vibrant and unforgettable, and he carried a personality that drew people in. Whether it was through laughter, conversation, or simply being himself, Jerimiah made his presence known in a way that will never be forgotten.
To those closest to him, Jerimiah was more than just a son, a sibling, friend or a student, he was a light. He had a kind heart, a playful nature, and a way of connecting with others that made people feel seen and appreciated. His smile was contagious, and his energy brought warmth to the people around him.
Jerimiah is survived by his parents, Katrina Dufauchard and Joshua Butler, Sr, both of Waterloo; siblings Kamariea Dillon, Erica Illon, Syncere Williams, and Omariona Williams, all of Waterloo, and Joshua Butler Jr., of Chicago; grandparents Zina Dufauchard of Waterloo, Lenise Butler and Arthur Williams Sr of Chicago; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many other family and friends.
Though his life was taken far too soon, the memories he created and the love he gave will live on through his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jerimiah will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
