Henry Smith

Henry Smith, 72, of Cedar Falls, was born February 25, 1947 to the late Lanier and Annie Lloyd Smith in Holmes County (formerly Black Hawk) Mississippi.

Henry accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age in Mississippi. He was the 7th of fifteen children.

He graduated from high school in Tchula, Mississippi.

He married the love of his life, Annie B. (Spann) Smith, and they have been together for over 46 years.

Professionally, he was employed as a roller operator for many years at Peterson Contractors, Inc. (PCI). He later worked part time as a delivery driver for Hy-Vee.

Henry transitioned on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. The loving memories of Henry Smith will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Annie B. Smith; two daughters, Angelique Smith-Davis of Elizabethtown, KY and Melissa (Robert) Thomas of Waterloo; two sons, Nicholas (Nicole) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Tim (Jennifer) Spann of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Tiluniqua Mincey, Diamond Spann, Minkah Davis, Asianae Spann, Nailah Spann, Jordan Henry Thomas, and Nicholas Spann, Jr.; four sisters, Eula Hicks of Memphis, Tennessee, Callie (S.C.) Williams of Waterloo, Bobbye Wright of Waterloo, and Christine Allen of Waterloo; six brothers, Albert Smith of Memphis, Tennessee, Willie James Smith of Waterloo, Samuel (Lay) Smith of Waterloo, Isadore Smith of Waterloo, Thomas Floyd (Jennifer) Smith of Houston, Texas, and Curtis (Brenda) Smith of North Carolina; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Virginia Smith in infancy, Booker T. Smith, Eugene Smith, and Connie Anderson.
