Garold O. Foulk, 87, of La Porte City, IA, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at his home.

Garold Owen Foulk was born on the family farm in La Porte City on November 22, 1929, the son of Orrie and LaRue Rourke Foulk. He attended Cedar Township School #6 until the 8th grade, then graduated from Orange Township High School.

Garold was united in marriage to Bernice I. Wagner on July 9, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He farmed his whole life, never really retiring. Garold enjoyed fishing and loved farming. He was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He is preceded in death by a son, James Alan Foulk; his parents, Orrie and LaRue Foulk; his father- and mother-in-law, George and Martha Wagner; four sisters-in-law: Eileen Peiper, Lydia “Tootie” Weatherman, Marcella “Sally” Foulk and Barbara Wagner; and two brothers-in-law, Charles “Buzz” Meyer and George Draper.

Garold is survived by his wife, Bernice of La Porte City; two sons, Dennis (Sharon) Foulk of La Porte City and Gary (Cherie) Foulk of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Wade (Sara) Foulk, Christopher Foulk, Carrie (Jeremy) Schaefer, Brad (Jodi Fogt) Foulk and Katie (Patrick Lynch) Foulk; eight great-grandchildren: Trevor and Dalton Schaefer, Madelon and Ellie Rathe, Kamryn and Avery Foulk, and Rylan and Mason Fogt; a brother, Billy Wayne Foulk of La Porte City; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Wagner and George (Geri) Wagner, Jr. and two sisters-in-law, Doris Meyer and Barbara Draper, all of Waterloo.
