Frances Lonete Carter

Frances Carter, 88, of Waterloo, died December 1, 2022, at ProMedica (Manor Care) Skilled Nursing. She was born October 15, 1934, in Allerton, daughter of Harold and Marjory (Lewis) Paterson. She graduated from Waterloo East High School.

She married James F Carter, January 31, 1953, in Waterloo. Frances worked as a homemaker and loved her family fiercely. She was a member of Linden United Methodist Church. Frances also enjoyed camping; and crocheted numerous slippers and afghans over the years for her family.

Frances is survived by her sons: Larry (Denise) Carter of Cedar Falls, and Michael (Kathleen) Carter of Waterloo; her daughter Marjorie Babcock of Schaller; ten grandchildren: Kenny, Dennis (Lora), Jordan (Sarah), Stephan, and Dylan (Hailey) Carter, Ami (Jeremy) Roeding, Cori (Chad) Hill, Jesi (Wade) Tank, Joe (Amber Pearson) Babcock, and Brandi Shephard; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Delbert "J.D" Carter; her brothers: Randall and Larry Paterson; and a great-granddaughter McKenzie Babcock in infancy.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 1PM, at Locke at Tower Park, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
