Everlena Holmes

Everlena Holmes, 74 of Waterloo, died Tuesday June 16, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She was born on July 28, 1945 in Durant, MS the daughter of Willie D. and Lillie Mae Williams – Holmes.

She worked at as a Seamstress at Power’s Manufacturing in Waterloo. Everlena was an active member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Survivors include: daughter, Lisa (James A.) Holmes- Lee of Waterloo; grandson Everett Amir Jackson of Waterloo; seven sisters, Elnora Dallas of West, MS, Tarstie Bailey, Margie Holmes, Ethel Holmes, and Delores Holmes all of Waterloo, Geraldine Watson, and Sarah (Willie) Miller of Toledo, OH; four brothers Willie( Doris) Holmes Jr., Rev. Robert L. (Dr. Gloria) Holmes, Tommy Lutha (Bertha) and Dan Williams all of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Louis Holmes; and brother-in-law Jimmy Watson.
