Elizabeth Agnes “Beth” Wooden, 92, of Hudson, died peacefully, Sunday, April 19, 2020, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Elizabeth “Beth” Wooden was born September 16, 1927 in Highlands, North Carolina, the daughter of Albert W. and Hettie Wilson Talley. Beth grew up in Highlands, North Carolina, until she went to school at Tamassee D.A.R. Boarding School in Tamassee, South Carolina to pursue nursing; graduating in 1947. She then moved to Tampa, Florida working in the nursing field until she met the love of her life Donald.

Beth worked hard her entire life while raising four boys. She worked as a custodian at the Hudson Schools for 18 years, retiring in 1991. Well into her 80’s, she continued to work for herself cleaning businesses and homes in the Hudson community. Her passions and love in life, was every year since Donald died, she and her children went to Donald’s hometown in Northern Minnesota where the boys enjoyed fishing, and she enjoyed reading books and cooking. Back at home she entertained her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and often prepared meals for her family.

Elizabeth married Donald Wooden June 3, 1956. Together they raised four boys.

Beth is survived by her four sons; Duane and his wife Terry of Hudson; Douglas of Cedar Falls; Dennis and his wife Pamela of Leesburg‚ FL; Dale and his wife JoAnne of Hudson. 6 grandchildren; Joshua and his wife Mikel of Des Moines; Tonya and her husband Scott of Traer; Stephanie and her husband Jared of Washburn; Anthony and his wife Alicia of Leesburg, Florida; Bradley of Cedar Rapids; Scott and his wife Marnel of Denville, New Jersey; 11 great-grandchildren; Mellissa; Mary; Eli; Ava; Emilia; Scott Jr.; Abel; Dallas; Michael Paul; Samuel David; Clorené and only niece Marilyn and her husband Michael Zugmaier of Evansdale.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters; Elise Holt and Marie Reese and brother Richard Talley.
