Earleen Louise McGrew

Earleen L. McGrew, age 91, of Runnells, Iowa and formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

She was born on March 7, 1928 in Waterloo, the daughter of Earl and Euphemia “Faye” (Dague) Howard. She graduated from North High School in Minneapolis, MN. Earleen was united in marriage with James Robert McGrew on July 3, 1948 in Waterloo.

Earleen worked as a salesclerk for JC Penney for 13 years retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Martha (Steve) Etten of Grand Lake, Colorado, Jolyn Pilger of Runnells, Iowa, and Donna McGrew of Madison, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; a brother, Albert Howard; two sisters, Doris Bilger French and Marlyn Shipp.
