Connie Lee Loonan

Connie Loonan, 70, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center in Cedar Falls on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 of natural causes.

Connie Lee Long was born November 3, 1941 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Thelma Axline Long. She graduated from West High School in 1959.

Connie married David Loonan on August 20, 1966 in Waterloo.

She was a custodian at the University of Northern Iowa for 36 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Connie enjoyed traveling, being with her dogs, collecting animal ceramics, and being in the kitchen cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband David of Windsor Nursing & Rehab in Cedar Falls; sister Barbara Weltzin and her husband Art of Waterloo; brother-in-law Gary Loonan and his wife Gerri of Huntley, Illinois; nephew Mike Weltzin of Waterloo; four nieces: Linda Paster of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; Cindy Davies of Aurora, Illinois; Melodie Satterlee and her husband Mike of Waterloo and Patti Loonan of Des Moines, Iowa; three grand-nieces; two grand-nephews, and her dog “Red.”

Connie is preceded in death by her parents and dog “Precious.”
