Carol Sue Kinkade

Carol Sue "Susie" Kinkade, 75, of Waterloo, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, October 30, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Carol was born on September 8, 1946 in Waterloo, daughter of Vernon "Mick" and Mary (Dinnebier) Freeland.

She graduated from East High School with the class of 1964.

Carol married Darrell Kinkade on October 22, 1966. To this union, they were blessed with three children, Curtis, Pamela, and Jeffrey.

She was primarily a homemaker but had worked at various fast-food restaurants over the years.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be remembered and truly missed by many. She cherished time with her family and loved decorating for every holiday.

Survived by her husband, Darrell; two sons, Curtis (Kristi) and Jeffrey; daughter, Pamela (Kevin) Phelps; ten grandchildren, Bryce, Brentyn, Brooklyn, Mike, Tyler, Scott, and Emily Kinkade, Rachel Klemke, and Elliott & Mason Phelps; three great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Jaelyn, and Milo; mother, Mary Freeland; brothers, Chuck (Nancy) and Dick (Sherri) Freeland; sister, Rosie (Jim) Glass; sisters-in-law, Brenda Freeland and Kathy McCready; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her father, Mick Freeland; grandson, Justin; mother & father-in-law, Mabel & Harold Kinkade; brothers, Vernon Jr. and Mike Freeland; nephew, Douglas Freeland; and brothers-in-law, Doug Kinkade and Donald McCready.
