Anthony (Tony) Anderson was born at St, James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He grew up in Waterloo, Iowa, and attended the Waterloo Community Schools and later attended the Upper Room Christian Academy. He graduated from Hawkeye Community College with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He attended Shiliam Avenue Church Of God In Christ. For many years throughout his life and attended Gospel Temple Church Of God In Christ.
Tony embraced life with a vibrant and generous spirit, one filled with laughter, music, conversation, and genuine connection. Whether he was fishing, playing pool, shooting hoops, or riding his bike, he found joy in the simple rhythms of everyday life. He approached his work with pride, met challenges with
determination, and valued the colleagues who shared those moments with him. A devoted fan, Tony proudly represented his favorite teams, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Carolina Panthers, he often dressed in their signature colors of yellow and black or blue, black, and silver. Music was another place where Tony came alive. He wrote songs, played multiple instruments, including the drums, cajon (box drum), guitar, and trumpet. His musical tastes were just as rich and varied, spanning gospel, R&B, blues, and rap. Above all, Tony loved people.
