Phyllis Elaine Larimer

Phyllis Larimer, 98, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Mercy One Medical Center in Waterloo.

Phyllis was born on May 29, 1927 in Storm Lake, IA to Willis and Gladys (Post) Hussey. She grew up in Albert City, IA, graduated and was married to Merle Larimer on August 1, 1946; he preceded her in death on June 24, 1987.

Phyllis was an Avon Representative for 40 years. She loved dancing and playing 500. Phyllis was a dedicated member of the Waterloo Fraternal Order of Eagles #764. She served as a Madam President, was State Auxiliary Grandmother in 2021, and was also Eagles REAC State President in 2000. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge #256 for 63 years and was a member of Eastern Star #499, where she also served as a President.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Rinda Kerns of Waterloo and Roxy (John) Herrmann of Columbia City, IN; grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) Carlson of Waterloo, Matthew (Lisa) Herrmann of Salt Lake City, UT, and Molly (Kris) Kozlowski of Eden Prairie, MN; great-grandchildren, Cody (Krista) Carlson of Kansas City, MO and Gwyn, Anna Grace and Wade Kozlowski; and brother, Bob (Jean) Hussey of Scottsdale, AZ.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club #764, 202 E 1st St. in Waterloo on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.

A private graveside service will be held at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake, IA at a later date.
