Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Luck, 71, of Waterloo, died Sunday, November 2, 2008, at her home of natural causes.

She was born June 24, 1937, in Fairbank, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Elaine Finch Kraft. She was married to her husband, Jerry Luck, for 45 years. He died December 22, 2003.

Liz was a graduate of Fairbank High School, where she was an all-state basketball player. Mrs. Luck was a professional seamstress, retiring from Waterloo Tent and Awning.

She is survived by: a son, Cory (Jodi) Bradley of Waterloo; a daughter, Tawny Luck (Terry) of Waterloo; a nephew she helped raise, Monte Bates (Katy) of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Jesse Luck, Ryan Bradley, Amber (Matt) Roster, Phil, Mike, Mark, Sommer and Stefanie; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Phil (Phyllis) Kraft and Monte (Aunt Mike) Kraft, both of Cedar Rapids; and two life-long friends, Rhoda Spore and Joan Tracy.

Liz is preceded in death by: a son, Brett in infancy; a sister, Darylyn “Lynn” Kraft; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Tovar and Cory Tovar; a son-in-law, Jeff Young; her stepfather, John “Snipe” Van Riper; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy “Aunt Dottie” Luck.

Liz was an avid bingo player. She will be lovingly remembered by her family.
