John D. Robeson, 91, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away at the Grundy Care Center and went to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 19, 2010.

John Dean Robeson was born April 27, 1919 in Dysart, Iowa, son of George and Ora Rommann Robeson. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1938.

He married Kathleen O’Brien on July 4, 1941 in Montrose, Missouri.

Mr. Robeson farmed in the Dysart, Garrison, and Vinton areas and worked as an inspector at John Deere for 14 years, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Robeson is survived by his wife Kathleen of Grundy Center, son Dean and his wife Denise of San Antonio, Texas; son David and his wife DeeDee of Grundy Center; son Randy and his wife Debbie of Waterloo; daughter Victoria Williams of Waterloo; daughter Jane Robeson of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren: Tricia (Neil) Turner, Tara Gloede, Kathleen (Matthew) Gray, Kayla, Kalen and Justin Robeson; Savannah and Marina Robeson; Faith and Abby Robeson and Olivia and Alexander Hottle; and Shawn (Diane) Ohde and Chris Ohde and 10 great grandchildren: Peyton, Carson and Layla Turner; Jacob, Maria and David Gloede; Kyle and Kristiana Ohde; and Luke and Jared Ohde. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Perry of Cedar Falls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marie Andrews, and two brothers Edwin and Robert Robeson.
