John Volbruck, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Raymond, died Friday, March 20, 2026, at Oak Park Estates. He was born August 20, 1931, in Waterloo, son of William and Grace (Archer) Volbruck.

He worked as a meat cutter at Bradfield’s Jack and Jill in Evansdale for 25 years. He later worked at John Deere Tractor Works, retiring in 1994 after 20 years.

John married Louise Elsie Boelman on November 21, 1953, in Morning Star Chapel in Waterloo. Together they raised five children. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2008. John married Nancy Irene Meiser in March of 2009 at First Reformed Church in Evansdale.

As a child he enjoyed Charlie Brown and marbles, he was known as the “neighborhood marble champion.” He loved to trout fish, had a lifelong passion for automobiles, and was very patriotic. He enjoyed traveling across the country on family vacations and dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Previously he was a member of First Reformed Church in Evansdale, where he served on the church board in various rolls. He wished for all to come to know the Lord.

John is survived by his children: Diane and her husband Rick Langford of FL, Denise ‘Dee’ and her husband Grant Schildroth of Waterloo, David Volbruck of Raymond, Mary and her husband Steve Lentzkow of Waterloo, and Carol Jean Darling of TX; his grandchildren: Rachel, Carie, Annalise, Lindsey, Stephanie, Daniel, Jacob, Benjamin, Amanda, Lauren, Evan, and Adam; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, brother William Volbruck, and sister Alvina Bradfield.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 23, 2026, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 10AM. Burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
