Joseph “Joe” Allan Morrison, 62, of Waterloo, died Thursday, January 22, 2026, while a patient at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Joe was born on November 16, 1963, in Waterloo, the son of Richard Morrison and Linda (Hickman) Morrison. Joe graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1982 and worked at Menards for 19 years before beginning a career at John Deere NE Tractor Site in 2003. Joe married Madonna Schauls on May 19, 1990, in Waterloo, and the couple is blessed with four children.

Joe was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed family time, including vacations to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Joe loved the outdoors and everything it had to offer, especially camping and fishing. He was also a NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver. Joe’s favorite fishing boat was affectionately named “The Intimidator” in honor of Earnhardt. Joe loved to work the grill and was renowned for his delicious barbeque. He enjoyed tinkering around the garage and always had a project to work on.

Joe is survived by his wife of 35 years, Madonna, of Waterloo; children Tyler Morrison (Ashley Reuter) of Ames, Tony Morrison of Waterloo, Lindsey Morrison (Hayden Ricklefs) of Dunkerton, and Caleb Morrison, of Waterloo; brother Curt (Kathy) Morrison of Waterloo; sister Julie Lahmann of Denver, IA; and many other family members. Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Gathering: Family to receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Locke Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave, Waterloo. A family hosted Celebration of life to follow at Cedar Falls AMVETs Post 49, 1934 Irving St, Cedar Falls.

    My condolences for the loss of Joe. I was a part of the group that went roller-skating at Black Hawk Roller drome with Joe. Joe had a big ole boat of a car that we all piled into. So much fun! I am thankful I have these memories of Joe smiling and laughing. Rest in peace Joe.
