Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Begley, 70, died Thursday, January 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born on February 5, 1955, the son of Emery Begley and Christine Buchanan Begley. Kenny worked most of his life as an auto body painter. He married Susan McMullen on May 28, 1978.

Kenny loved all children. From his own kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to those in the neighborhood- he shared a special bond with them all. Although, he could be stubborn at times, Kenny had a big heart and would help anyone he could. He took special joy in making everyone laugh, whether he meant to or not. Above all Kenny simply loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eddie Begley.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Susan, of Waterloo; son, Toby (Lisa Carey) Hall of La Porte City; daughter, Larissa (Nick Wu) Begley of Ames; grandchildren, Justin (Paige) Carey and their children, Jack and Bowen, all of La Porte City, Ashley (Jaden) Kuethe, with the next great-grandchild soon to arrive, of Waterloo, Jordan (Grace Keegan) Carey and Jacob Carey, both of La Porte City; siblings, Connie (Jeff) Hoffman of Rock Port, TX, Joe (Kathleen) Begley of Evansdale, Sharon Fox of Waterloo, Jeff Begley of Rock Port, TX, Scott (Kris) Begley of Waterloo, and Bobbie (Steve) McBride of Waterloo; and many other family and friends.

Visitation and Celebration of Life: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo. Celebration of Life to follow at 6:00 p.m.
