Nancy Smith, 66, of Waterloo, died on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born on September 11, 1959, in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Norma Jean (Hird) Myers. She married Steven L. Randall in August of 1976 in Waterloo; they later divorced. She then married Earl “Jim” Smith on April 8, 2000, at Cornerstone Church in Waterloo.

Nancy worked at Hobby Lobby for 27 years, starting as a cashier and working her way up to store assistant manager. She retired in November 2024. She also worked at Sunrise Daycare Center as a preschool teacher for many years.

She enjoyed crafting and antiquing, making jewelry and painting.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Jim Smith of Waterloo; three daughters, Carrie (Josh) Rzepka of Hudson, Melissa (David) Smith of Kirkwood, IL, and Patricia “Patty” Randall of Evansdale; three grandchildren, Matthew (Kasandra) Rzepka of Cedar Falls, Stephanie (Grant) Schrock of Biggsville, IL, and Josie Rzepka of Hudson; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Rhettland, and Ani, and one on the way; a sister, Marcia (Gary) Bartels of Mingo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Debra Jean Rosenberg, and Joan Marie Willett; a granddaughter, Tricia Marie Randall; and three infant grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Open Bible Church in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Avenue, Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to the family.
