Eileen Kay Howard

Eileen Kay Howard

February 25, 1941 February 3, 2026

Eileen Kay Howard, 84, of Monticello, formerly of Waterloo, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with her daughters by her side.

Eileen was born on February 25, 1941, in Waterloo, to Dwane B. and Daisy M. (Pierce) Morelock. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1959. Eileen married “soulmate,” Larry J. Howard on June 5, 1959, at Grace Methodist Church in Waterloo.

She spent her life focused on creating a home filled with love for her two daughters and supporting her husband’s career. Eileen’s children and grandchildren “knew” they were loved deeply and unconditionally. Her actions, like making homemade noodles, meatloaf, and fried rice, joining them all on adventures, or offering up an abundance of hugs and smiles spoke volumes. Her time and attention, along with an “I love you” EVERY time she saw them, created a legacy of boundless love.

If Eileen told you that she loved you, she meant it-her smile was bright and inviting. Her hugs were as warm and comfy as a soft blanket. Eileen’s life was an example of strength, faith, sacrifice, forgiveness, joy, generosity, and kindness. She was a special lady who will forever be missed and never ever forgotten.

Eileen moved to heaven, joining her precious soulmate and spouse, Larry, of 63 years. The life they built was more than enough for her; it was everything. She adored him and loved being a mother to her girls. The love they shared between the four of them was almost palpable.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Willene Vore, and brothers, Donald and Norman Morelock.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her daughters, Lorrene (Terry) Collins of Waterloo and Selina (Gary Jr.) Howard-Grant of Center Junction; grandchildren, Chelsea Cutshall of Hockley, TX and Cody (Janann) Collins of Odessa, FL; 7 great grandchildren, Katie and Payton Cutshall and Brilynn, Colton, Clairalynn, Cason and Cavrick Collins; 1 great-great grandson, Zakari Collins; and extended family and friends.
