Linda Buehner, 76, of Cedar Falls, passed away surrounded by family at Thuesen Cottage on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, after a brief illness.
Linda was born June 30th, 1949, in Waterloo, the daughter of Elmer and Bernice Strauss Holtzman. Linda was united in marriage with her loving husband, Jack Buehner, on August 31st, 1968. The pair shared three beautiful daughters: Vicky, Barbara, and Jennifer. Linda had a love for thrifting, spending her weekends at flea markets before opening her very own shop, Buehner’s Antiques and Gifts. The store was her passion project, filled with hundreds of beautiful antiques she had collected and proudly displayed. When the store closed, she worked various other jobs before retiring at Walgreens.
Linda was bold but kind and was never afraid to share her opinion. She spent her days after retirement spending time with her husband, Jack, and daughter, Vicky, or visiting local casinos. She loved to play the slot machines with her husband, her children, or her grandchildren. Linda would sit in the center and switch off pressing the button with whoever joined her.
Linda had a soft spot for the stray kittens that found solace near her home, always laying out food and water for them, and sometimes sneaking one, or two, or four into the house. She shared the same tenderness for her husband, her children, and her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, of 57 years; her daughters, Vicky Buehner of Cedar Falls, Barb (Mike) Saathoff of Davenport, and their children Elizabeth (Michael Guhin) and Abigail Saathoff; and Jennifer Clark (Vince Przekop, deceased 2026) of White Lakes, MI, and her children Conner and Alex Albinger; brother, Jerry Holtzman; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other family members.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Karen Dillavou.
