Derrick DeShawn Kimbrough, 31, of Waterloo, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Unity Point-Allen Hospital.

Derrick was born on September 6, 1993, in Canton, MS, to Eric and Contina (Kimbrough) Neville, Sr. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 2011 and played football, baseball, and wrestled during high school and went on to play football for the Iowa Central Triton's in Ft. Dodge. Derrick worked for John Deere and was a member of the UAW Local 838. He was a devoted father who cherished his children and family deeply.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Paulette Neville and Bertha Kimbrough; grandfather, DeWitt Neville; and uncle, Corey Kimbrough.

Derrick's legacy will live on through his parents, Eric and Contina Neville, Sr.; children, Elaja and Jermiah Kimbrough; significant other, Essoria Greer; brothers, Eric Neville, Jr, and Darius Neville; niece, Nevah Neville; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo.

Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park. Burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery-Waterloo.
