Alice Irene Bishop, 86, of Waterloo, formerly of Stout, died at her home under hospice care Friday, March 24, 2017, of bladder cancer.

Allie was born March 21, 1931, in Malcom, Iowa, the daughter of Milton and Vergie Gerard Peters and graduated from Oskaloosa High School.

She married Clarence Bishop in April 1961 in Waterloo. She was the secretary/clerk (affectionately known as the Den Mother) for the Iowa State Patrol Office, District 9 in Cedar Falls from 1970‑1992.

She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Cedar Rapids for many years (mainly for her nephew, Craig) and former member of Sunnyside Temple in Waterloo; also Red Hat Society of Riverview, FL.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Sr.; son, Clarence Jr. and wife Shannon of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Tina Bishop Clay of Streator, IL; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Allie is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Roberta Joyce Bishop; a brother, Lyle Peters; a brother in law, Robert Bishop; and a nephew, Branden Bishop, in infancy.
