Patricia L. Littrel, 82, of Hudson, passed on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, of kidney cancer.

Patricia was born on April 4, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Charles and Anastasia Doughan-Durnin.

Patricia was united in marriage to Ward L. Littrel on May 8, 1954, in Minneapolis. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2016.

Patricia graduated from high school in Albert Lea, MN, in 1953.

Patricia worked as an account clerk for UNI in the business office for 24 years until retiring in 1990.

Patricia was member of St. Mary’s Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Eagle Center. She was a lifetime member of AmVets Auxiliary. In 1995, she was awarded as the Iowa Auxiliary Member of the Year and, in 2001, the Governor’s Volunteer Award. She coordinated Meals on Wheels for 20 years and the Hudson Senior Meal Program and was a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years. For many years she crocheted caps, afghans, and shawls for the Hospice Home and Iowa Vets Homes. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and canning jellies and jams.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Kenneth Littrel, a daughter, Jeanene Cummings, a brother, Charles “Bud” Durnin, Jr., and three sisters, Ella Mae Gorman, Betty Filipiak, and Audrey Jewett.

Patricia is survived by, a daughter, Teresa (Tom) Peachee of California, a son, David Littrel of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Joshua Cummings, Stevie Marie (Luke) Anderson, Jared Peachee, Ashley (Steven) Tyre, Chyanne Peachee, and Brock Peachee; five great-grandchildren, Brenna, Mia, and Logan Escobedo, and Waylon and Westin Tyre; a sister, Barbara Lewis of Minneapolis, MN; and a son-in-law, Robert Cummings of Marion.
