Kenny Gates, 75, of Waterloo, died at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Monday, February 3, 2014.

Mr. Gates was born January 3, 1939, in Waterloo, the son of Clifford and Elsie Loy Gates. Kenny grew up in Waterloo and worked for Sibert’s Laundry and Dry Cleaning for a long time. He was a thrifty and hard working person who enjoyed collecting old cars, stock car races, and watching wrestling on TV.

Survived by: five brothers: Clifford Gates of Waterloo, LaVerne (Jeanette) Gates of Florida, Don (Shirley) Gates of Aurora, MO, Ronald Gates of Waterloo, Larry (Annie) Gates of Waterloo; three sisters Joan Hanley of St. Petersburg, FL, Barbara Davis of Waterloo and Karen Moore of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: Parents, five brothers Gary, Robert, John, G.W. “Bill” and Dennis Gates; three sisters LaVonne Rochholz, and Sally Gates and Betty Engelhardt.
