Calvin Milton Paulsen

Calvin Milton Paulsen, age 88, of Friendship Village passed away Monday July 16.

Cal was born in Audubon County to Rena and Louis Nissen Paulsen on March 2, 1924.

He married Lucille Haals September 7, 1947 in Audubon, Iowa. Three daughters, Carolyn, Julie, and Debbie were born to this union.

Cal moved with his parents to Orange Township in 1937 where he farmed until his retirement.

He was a past member of Waterloo Optimist Club and a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Cal is survived by his wife and three daughters: Carolyn Reichert and her husband Bob of Waterloo, Julie Zell and her husband Larry of Waterloo, and Debbie Messerly and her husband Dana of Olathe, Kansas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Matt (Stacy) Reichert, Jennifer Ott, Kristine (Aaron) Martin, Emily Zell, Bryan (Maddalena Marinari) Messerly, David (Cheris) Messerly, Beth (Joel Krumm) Messerly; and 7 great grandchildren.

Cal is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Mary Albers and Wanda Pullin.
