Linnie Beatrice Porter

Linnie B. Porter, 90, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at her granddaughter’s home in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.

Linnie Beatrice Taylor was born March 19, 1922 in Jackson, Mississippi, the daughter of Henry and Anna Jefferson Taylor.

She had worked for Venda Foods at John Deere in Waterloo. Linnie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Linnie was devoted to her family. She was constantly giving of her time and her advice; whatever it took to help her family. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune.

She is survived by her son Cass Porter Jr., of Waterloo; daughter Anna Nichols of California; 15 grandchildren: Tina, Dwight, Marcus, Maurice, Gabriel, Linnette, Tonya, Chetti, Lonnie Jr., Lonise, Lennie, Shon, Keysha, Jackie and Lonnell; many great grandchildren; and her sister Arlean Jackson of Jackson, Mississippi.

Linnie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Maryann Mangum, son Lonnie Porter and numerous brothers and sisters.
