Emmanuel “Mike” Michilides, 67, of Oelwein, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at home.

He was born June 6, 1947 in Des Moines, the son of James and Anna George Michilides.

Mr. Michilides was a physician’s assistant at Unity Point Family Medicine Oelwein for over 35 years. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Viet Nam Era.

Mike is survived by one sister, Karen (Dean) Van De Wiele of Kanawha; four nieces, Angela (Dallas) Johnson of Kanawha, Brenda Alberts of Cedar Rapids, Shelley (Bob) Doenhoefer of Lawton, and Terri (Rich) Somsky of Kissimmee, Florida; and eight great nieces and nephews, Jackson, Claire and Carlie Johnson, Cody Alberts, Ben, Anna, and Becca Dreessen, and Robby Doenhoefer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Tasha Lang; and one niece, Tina Van De Wiele.
