Richard L. “Dick” Meyer, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Allen Memorial Hospital. He was born April 14, 1926 in Dunkerton the son of David and Violet Fee Meyer. He married Norma Phillips in 1956 in Waterloo, she preceded him in death in January of 1967. He was then united in marriage to Marlene Moser on December 5, 1968 in Galena, IL, she preceded him in death in August of 2010.

Dick served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a Service Manager for over 30 years at several car dealerships in the Cedar Valley and most recently worked as a Saftey Director for Northstar Community Services in Waterloo, retiring in April of 2013. He was a longtime member of the WaterHawks Ski Club.

Survived by: two sons, Kevin (Taslim) Meyer of Victoria, BC, Scott (Jodi) Allender of LeClaire, IA; two daughters, Tanya (Jim Jackson) Meyer-Dideriksen of Oxford, Candace (Donald) Allender-Kropf of Stillwater, MN; 9 grandchildren, Colin Mansager of Vinton, Jarrod Gonzales of Tacoma, WA, Aaron Meyer of Colorado Springs, CO, Kyle and Jordan Allender of LeClair, IA, Elizabeth Kropf of Duluth, MN, Katherine Kropf of Stillwater, MN, Christian Kropf of Duluth, MN and Reign Ackerley of Victoria, BC.

Preceded in death by: his parents; his two wives; one son, D. Kelly Allender; one brother, Don Meyer and one sister, Onalee Dinnebier.
