Larry D. Olmstead, age 63, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his home.

He was born August 8, 1950 in Waterloo, the son of Kenneth Dean and Helen Louise (Straube) Olmstead. Larry graduated from Waterloo East High School. He married Vicki L. Wood and they were later divorced. Larry worked at John Deere & Co. for 30 years. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors including bike riding and fishing.

Survivors include a daughter, Shari (Will) Timm of La Porte City; a son, Kenny (Jenny) Olmstead of Coralville, IA; 6 grandchildren, Dillon Olmstead, Bryan Timm, Cybil Timm, Catarina Timm, Lydia Timm and Ethan Timm.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
