Jack G. Hoffman Sr., 61, of Elk Run Heights, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on Sunday, November 16, 2014.

Jack was born on September 28, 1953 in El Paso, Texas, the son of George and Lorene Boehm Hoffman. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1972.

Jack was united in marriage to Margaret Scheel on February 15, 1980, at the First Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

He worked at John Deere for over 30 years, retiring in 2002.

Jack had a passion for vegetable and flower gardening, taking special care of Margaret’s tulips and rose bushes. He was always a very hard working husband and father.

Jack is survived by his wife, Margaret Hoffman of Elk Run Heights; daughter, Reanie (Lewie) Roseberry of Tucson, Arizona; son, Jack Hoffman, Jr. of Elk Run Heights; grandchildren: Alyssa Hoffman, Lewie Roseberry, and Chylynn Roseberry; his mother, Lorene Hoffman of Elk Run Heights; and 6 siblings.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Hoffman.
