Clayton J. Hurley, age 87, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls.

He was born September 6, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa. Clayton attended Waterloo East High School. He married Evelyn Joan Butler on March 19, 1948 in Waterloo. She died June 14, 1999.

Clayton worked for John Deere & Co. in the hydraulic assembly department for many years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Kuehne and her husband, Gary of Mt. Auburn, Iowa, and Melissa Wetlaufer and her husband, Michael of Waterloo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard D. DaBillo of Davenport, Iowa, and Lloyd DaBillo of Waterloo.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
