Mary M. Keune, 77, of Mt. Auburn, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born February 4, 1938 in Minot, ND the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Leintz) Degenstein. She married Earl Keune on November 29, 1970 in East Dubuque; he preceded her in death in September of 2001.

She was a homemaker and also had worked as a waitress at Larry’s Restaurant in La Porte City and Cedar Valley Egg for many years. Mary was a member of the Mt. Auburn American Legion Auxiliary and the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church.

Survived by: one son, Kenny Keune; one daughter-in-law, Tami Keune and one granddaughter, Haylee Keune all of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by: her parents and five brothers, Christ, Eddie, Harry, Virgil and Jerry Degenstein.
