Phyllis Owens, 84, Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center died at Ravenwood on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

She was born July 21, 1928 in Waterloo the daughter of Ray and Pearl Pint Bonk.

Phyllis married Leonard Slaughter in April 1944 and later divorced. She married Carl Owens in December 1971 in Burlington, Iowa. He died December 2, 2010. She worked for Rath Packing Co. and later in maintenance at Hawkeye Community College.

She is survived by her daughter Terry Bruno of Waterloo, 3 grandchildren: Vonna Bruno of Waterloo, Robert (Michelle Lindquist) Bruno of Waterloo, and Dee (Steve) Breitkreutz of Charles City; 4 great grandchildren: Ashley Bruno, Jay Jacobson, Ryan Jacob-Wilson, and Carla Nash; 5 great-great grandchildren: Alexander, Caden, Kylie, Lexie, and Alias . Phyllis is also survived by 7 nephews: Steve, Tom, Bill, Dave, Bob, Tim and Mike Knipp and niece Kathy Fish.

She is preceded by her parents, husband, and sister Beverly Knipp.
