Cheryl Lynn Niedert, 73, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1948, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence R. and Joan Winter McCombs.

Cheryl married Jerry L. Niedert; they later divorced. She married William J. Miller and they later divorced.

She worked for Met Transit as a driver, retiring in 2011.

She loved the color purple, gardening and her flowers, butterflies, country music, camping and fishing, mushroom hunting. Cheryl was a great cook and talented at knitting and crochet work. Most of all, she loved her family.

Cheryl is survived by her 4 children, Terrie Miller of Waterloo, Brenda Forstall of Granite Bay, California, Tammy Jo (Steven) Rambo of Waterloo, and Tim (Rachel) Niedert of Dysart, Iowa; her 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Brandon Miller and his children, Alexander and Karis, Nick Miller and his children, Jackson and Lucas, and Zach Miller and his daughter, Kendra. She is also survived by her brother, Michael McCombs of Waterloo; a niece, Amanda McCombs; and a nephew, Christopher McCombs.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Patrick McCombs and a nephew, Jason McCombs.
