Barbara Ann Lueder

Barbara A. Lueder, 78, of Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls, formerly of Stirlingshire in Coralville, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Barb was born on May 3, 1948, in West Union, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Evalyn (Schlatter) Lueder. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and a master’s degree in special education from the University of Iowa. Barb worked as a school psychologist with Grant Wood Area Education Agency.

Barb was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. She loved traveling. Her travels included several trips abroad with her church choir, Luther College Alumni tours, and trips to visit family from coast to coast. She especially loved her trips to Norway, Germany and other European destinations. She was quite the collector – of books (including cookbooks and hymnals!), postcards and posters of the places she visited, and many family heirlooms.

Barb is survived by her niece, Karla (Joe) Organist of Waterloo; nephews, Tim (Karla) Lueder of Plymouth, MN, and Kim (Ann) Lueder of Rochester, MN; great-nephews, Jack Lueder and George Lueder; great-niece, Ashleigh Lueder; sister-in-law, Sarah “Sally” Lueder-Nolte of Waverly; and numerous cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, George Lueder, Judith Torson, and Kenneth Lueder.

Memorial Services: 1:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo, with a memorial visitation for one hour prior to the service starting at 12 pm. Inurnment to take place in West Union Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Camp EWALU.
