Lori Lynne Bolton

November 7, 1963 August 15, 2022

Lori Lynne Bolton, 58, of Marble Rock and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Monday August 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cedar Falls on November 7, 1963, the daughter of Howard and Joy Christensen Melka. Lori graduated from Cedar Falls High School.

Relationships were a challenge for Lori, but as a result, she was blessed with two children who were her world. She was a person who espoused the saying, "work to live; don't live to work" and she did whatever it took to provide for her family. Her one job that she was most passionate about was being a horticulturist for Fink's Green House in Cedar Falls. She was clearly the matriarch of the family, providing an anchor for her children to grow and flourish.

Lori frequented flea markets, looking for that one item, especially items she could resell. She loved to collect stones and gems and hunting Native American artifacts. Her interest in the Native American culture was so intense that she was frustrated to learn she had no native blood. Lori was an amazing cook and talented artist. Even with limited means, she found ways to make holidays and birthdays special for her children. She was loving and strong, while also being stubborn. She could be the biggest sweetheart until you crossed her, and then look out! Most of all, Lori enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Gracey.

Lori is survived by her children, Britney (Brad) Huffman of Cedar Falls and Mitchell (Kristina) Bolton of Waterloo and their daughter, Gracey. She is also survived by a special sister, Rita Rawls of Somerville, TX and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a best friend, Elaine.

A family-directed Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. As a show of sympathy, online condolences may be expressed at www.LockeFuneralServices.com. Locke on 4th Street is assisting the family, 319-233-6138.
